From January 16–23, 2027, A Touch of Mystery & More Entertainment Group is taking Music Can Be MURDER! aboard Holland America’s beautiful Zuiderdam for an immersive murder mystery experience unlike anything we’ve done before.
And when we say immersive, we mean it.
This isn’t a mystery you simply sit down and watch for a couple of hours. The story will unfold around you throughout the cruise—with characters to meet, clues to discover, suspects to question and evidence that just might appear when you least expect it.
Welcome to 1946
The mystery takes you into the glamorous world of a 1946 big-band musical extravaganza, complete with colorful characters, intrigue and, naturally, murder.
Throughout the week, you’ll have opportunities to mingle with characters during special cocktail events and other gatherings. You’ll learn more about their relationships, their secrets and—perhaps—their motives.
Pay attention.
That seemingly innocent conversation could turn out to be important later.
You’ll collect clues as the story develops, search for evidence during a scavenger hunt and eventually have the chance to question the suspects.
Then it’s up to you and your team to put the pieces together.
Who had the motive?
Who had the opportunity?
And who is telling a story that doesn’t quite add up?
And Then There’s the Music…
Of course, you can’t have a 1940s big-band extravaganza without a show!
One of the highlights of Music Can Be MURDER! will be a special evening of live 1940s-style musical performances featuring the characters you’ve been getting to know throughout the mystery.
But there’s another twist.
One lucky cruise guest will be chosen to step into the story and perform alongside the cast!
So yes, you could board the Zuiderdam expecting to solve a murder and find yourself becoming part of the show.
We did warn you that anything can happen.
A Mystery Wrapped Inside a Mexican Riviera Vacation
Here’s one of our favorite things about this experience: the mystery is only part of your vacation.
The Zuiderdam sails round-trip from San Diego and visits La Paz, Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas, giving you plenty of opportunities to explore the Mexican Riviera.
Between mystery events, the rest of the ship—and your vacation—is yours to enjoy.
Relax. Explore the ports. Have a fabulous dinner. Sit by the pool. Enjoy the ship’s entertainment.
Just don’t get too relaxed.

Music Can Be MURDER! is a private experience available only to guests who reserve their cruise through Sharpe Travel Group.
Simply booking the same sailing separately will not give you access to the mystery events, characters, clues, performances or other special activities.
